Dear Fellow St. Mary
Parishioner,
We are in need of your
prayers! As we start 2009 and you are making plans to accomplish goals
we sincerely hope you are considering spending more time and effort on
personal prayer? There is no better place to get away and dedicate
yourself to interior prayer and spiritual reading than in our parish’s
Blessed Sacrament Chapel. In the December 2008 Faith magazine there is
an article on the Holy Spirit Oratory Eucharistic Adoration Chapel in
Lansing. Did you read that article? We as your parish adoration
coordinators also are “continually looking for people who will commit
one hour each week for prayer.” How blessed we are to have our own
parish adoration chapel here at St Mary. Making a regular holy hour is
the grateful response to His presence that our Lord longs for. What
keeps you from the honor of making a regular holy hour? Do you think
that you will have more time in the future? Do you think that you will
be more spiritually focused (holier) in the future? In these times we
are all becoming more and more aware that our futures are uncertain.
There is no time but the present and there is no better place to take
your anxiety, concerns, wishes …. than to Jesus present in the Most
Blessed Sacrament. Please promise the Lord that you will make a regular
holy hour with Him. Try it for awhile, try it through Lent until
Easter, try it until the kids get out of school, try it until you find a
new job, try it until your family life is more stable, try it until your
love ones return to the Catholic Church, try it ….We truly need you now
to become a regular Eucharistic adorer and you need personal time with
Jesus. It’s a match made in Heaven.
